Takht First Look Out: Karan Johar Introduces Ranveer, Kareena, Alia, Vicky Kaushal, Jhanvi & Anil Kapoor As Cast of Magnum Opus
The period drama will be based on the Mughal dynasty where Ranveer will essay the role of Dara Shukoh while Vicky will play his younger brother Aurangzeb.
Karan Johar is back with a new announcement on the board and that will leave you surprised and excited at once. Even without giving a hint about it the ongoing project to the media and the public, this one is definitely one good way to enthrall the fans and keep hooked to the audience. So, Karan Johar directed Takht stars an A-list cast ensemble of Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Janhvi Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar and Anil Kapoor.
The filmmaker shared the news with the cast announcement and the first look of the magnum opus. A happy Ranveer wrote, “Proud, excited & honoured to be a part of KARAN JOHAR’S MULTI-STARRER HISTORICAL MAGNUM OPUS." While, the Raazi actress is happy to be back to her mentor. She tweeted, “Back where I begun.. to my roots! So so so so excited to be a part of this historical magnum opus! TAKHT! Directed by the one and ONLY!”
The period drama will be based on the Mughal dynasty where Ranveer will essay the role of Dara Shukoh while Vicky will play his younger brother Aurangzeb. Meanwhile, the role of Ranveer Singh’s character’s sister, Jahanara Begum will be played by Bebo.
Kjo is back with his own directorial, right after his film 'Ae Dil hai Mushkil'. The film with Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Fawad Khan was a blockbuster making the fans wanting more of Karan Johar as a director. Takht will be the first time that he is venturing into the space of period dramas and he thinks that this is his most ambitious projects to date.
While Ranveer and Alia are already working in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy next, this will be the second time that their pair will come onboard. Also, this will be the energetic Singh's third period drama after Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. Alia and Vicky were recently seen in 'Raazi' which was presented by Dharma Productions and Janhvi too was seen in Dharma's 'Dhadak' recently.
