Taapsee Pannu has been taking up some interesting films ever since her Pink stint. The actress has starred in powerful films such as Mulk, Badla and the recently released Saand Ki Aankh ever since. The actress is now all set to star in Anand L Rai and Bhushan Kumar's next production, that will be helmed by Vinil Matthew of Hasee Toh Phasee fame. The film's male lead too has now been finalised and it is none other than Chhapaak star Vikrant Massey. Vikrant has already been a popular face on Indian Television and also web-shows such as Mirzapur. Taapsee and Vikrant will be teaming up for the first time and the film is going to be a romantic thriller. The untitled film is expected to be shot in North India considering the film's story is set there claim reports. While Taapsee has been busy with multiple projects including Anubhav Sinha's Thappad, and will later work on Ronnie Screwvala's Rashmi Rocket, Vikrant too will soon start with the promotions of Chhapaak.

Chhapaak directed by Meghna Gulzar stars Deepika Padukone in the role of Malti who is an acid attack survivor and Vikrant will be playing the role of her partner in the film. The film's trailer is expected to release in the first week of December, ahead of the film's release on January 10, 2020.
