Swara Bhasker Speaks Up About Casting Couch in Bollywood: VDW Actress Tells How a Man Tried to Say 'I Love You' and Kiss Her!
Swara Bhasker talks on casting couch in Bollywood.
#MeToo movement is creating the right noise on the social media. The movement gave voice to many face less women out there who were skeptical about sharing the incidents related to sexual harassment and casting couch. The whole #MeToo saga started after the Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein was exposed by plenty of actresses and was accused of sexual harassment at work. The Bollywood has also also been chipping in with their experiences one by one. The recent one to talk about it was Swara Bhasker. The Veere Di Wedding actress was invited as a guest at Indian Express's program, where she truthfully spoke about the casting couch experience that she had and we are glad that she opened up.
Recalling the incident, she told about a manager of a big film producer who tried to come close to her. The man tried to get her residential address and even went to an extent of saying 'I Love You' and try to kiss her!
Talking about it, the Tanu Weds Manu star said, "When I got out this guy actually tried to kiss my ear and said ‘I love you baby’ and I kind of did that (gestures shirking away) so he got a mouthful of my hair so I was just like… so that kind of stuff happens. It’s all a part of casting couch, right?"
We like the way Swara never hesitates to give her honest take on things that matter to the society. Her statements often land her into the controversies, thanks to the trolls. But the fact that she keeps going on with her opinions head-on, makes us wish to have more voices like her around.
