Sushmita Sen Clocks 24 Years of Winning Miss Universe Pageant With This Inspiring Post

If there is someone in Bollywood who beauty and elegance personified, it has got to be Sushmita Sen! From being a single mom in the patriarchal society that we live in, to being completely self-reliant and self-sufficient, the diva has been such an inspiration to so many women out there. Today, Sushmita Sen clocks 24 years of being crowned Miss Universe. She started her journey when  she was only 18 years old, and quite honestly, that's quite a huge achievement for that day and age.

The actress took to Instagram to share a rather emotional and inspiring message today reminiscing her journey and how proud she is to be single. In a post she shared, the actress said, "I was 18 yrs old when #India won #MissUniverse for the very first time on 21st May 1994....I am 42 now, still a ‘Miss’ with a ‘Universe’ inside of me!!!! nothing has changed except the year’s’ Thank you guys for the letters, cards & gifts ..but mostly for ‘Re-membering’ the #Universe is lovingly #abundant & so what we give out, we get more of!!! #positivity #happiness #kindness #love #empathy I celebrate with you #India & #philippines (my second home)  #24years #missuniverse1994 here’s looking at you!!!
