Sushant Singh Rajput to Compete With Ranbir Kapoor for the Lead Role in Aamir Khan-Produced Mogul?

After Akshay Kumar had infamously walked out of the late Gulshan Kumar biopic, Mogul, the lead role has been up for the grabs. Though Aamir Khan is associated with the project, he will only be serving as a co-producer along with T-Series. We had reported some time back about how Ranbir Kapoor had been approached by Aamir Khan to play Kumar in the movie. After the mega success of Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor is hot property right now, so it makes sense to consider him as the leading man. While the actor is yet to give his nod here, it looks like he is not the only one approached for the film.

As per a report in DNA, the talented Sushant Singh Rajput was also approached by the makers for the lead role as well. It is interesting to see if the actor will consider doing Mogul, since he already has so many interesting projects in hand.  There is Kedarnath, Kizie Aur Manny, Drive, Son Chiriya on the way for him, as well as a 12-part biography series that he himself is producing. But as per the report, he seems to have the dates required for the movie.

It will be exciting to see who will finally take the lead role. After all, the biggest hits of both Ranbir and Sushant's careers have been biopics (for Sushant, it was MS Dhoni: The Untold Story if you only consider his solo lead flicks; he had an extended cameo in PK). Aamir Khan and T-Series have already locked Christmas 2019 as the release date for the film, so they better move fast!
