Sui Dhaaga Made in India is doing some fine business over its opening weekend. Even though it has not gone to a flying start when compared to some of its lead star Varun Dhawan's more massy blockbusters, Judwaa 2 et al, Sui Dhaaga had been bringing in the family audiences to the theatres. People seem to be loving Mamta and Mauji's 'Made in India' initiative. Anushka Sharma is the female lead, and this is the first time Varun and Anushka are paired together in a movie. Sui Dhaaga is directed by Sharat Katariya. Sui Dhaaga Movie Review: Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma Bring a Lot of Charm To This Simple Tale Told in a Pleasing Manner.
The movie had taken off to a decent start on Friday, but enjoyed good growth on Saturday and Sunday. As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie has collected Rs 36.60 crore in three days. The collections are expected to dip on the first Monday; but Sui Dhaaga also has the advantage of having October 2's Gandhi Jayanthi public holiday. Sui Dhaaga Celeb Review: Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma Get All The Praise For Their Heart-Warming Performance.
#SuiDhaaga witnesses EXCELLENT GROWTH... Day 2 + Day 3 biz is a clear indicator that its target audience [families] have helped multiply the biz... Day 3 is *almost double* of Day 1... Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 16.05 cr. Total: ₹ 36.60 cr [2500 screens]. India biz.

Although Day 4 [Mon] - the first working day after the weekend - is akin to an exam for all movies, #SuiDhaaga has an advantage of a big holiday tomorrow [Day 5; Gandhi Jayanti], so the real test will be from Day 6 [Wed] onwards... Biz on the national holiday is a BIG BONUS.

With Monday's collections, Sui Dhaaga will cross the earnings of Varun's last film, October (Rs 39 crore), also released this year. It has already crossed the lifetime earnings of Anushka's last film, Pari (Rs 28.96 crore).
The bigger question is, will Sui Dhaaga manage to get into the Rs 100 crore club. This week too, there will be multiple releases that might hamper Sui Dhaaga's collection. It all depends on how well the YRF film manages to take advantage of the Gandhi Jayanti holiday.
