Subhash Kapoor Reacts to Aamir Khan Backing Out of Mogul

After Aamir Khan had backed out of the film, T-Series has reportedly also fired Subhash Kapoor.

Mogul: Subhash Kapoor Reacts to Aamir Khan Backing Out of the Gulshan Kumar Biopic

Sometime back, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao had put out a statement that he and his production are backing out of a project that they didn't name, as someone in the team has been accused of sexual harassment. However, people were rightly able to speculate that the movie they were talking about was Mogul and the accused person in question being the director, Jolly LLB fame Subhash Kapoor. The director was accused of sexually assaulting an actress and the video of her slapping him in public had gone viral a few months ago. It's OFFICIAL! Aamir Khan Has Backed Out of Mogul Because of Director Subhash Kapoor

Now the film-maker himself has confirmed this fact, as he spoke to Indian Express. While he said that he respects Aamir Khan's decision, Subhash also said that he will fight for his innocence in the court. He said, "I understand and respect Aamir Khan's and Kiran Rao's decision. Since matter is subjudice, I intend to prove my innocence in the court of law. But I do want to raise a question - is secretly filming a crying woman without her consent and knowledge and uploading it on social media not harassment or abuse? Or is it fine if she is related to someone who is "allegedly accused"of a misconduct. If your answer is latter then for me it's nothing less then a khaap panchayat mentality."

After Aamir Khan had backed out of the film, T-Series has reportedly also fired Subhash Kapoor. T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, who is financing the biopic on his father the late Gulshan Kumar, told Indian Express, "It is our foremost duty to make our industry safe for everyone, make an industry that creates environment of equality and a better place to work. With the on-going proceedings against the director that have been brought to our notice, everyone at T-Series has decided to not work with the director."

So if that was the case, then why was the need for Aamir Khan to back out of the film? Wasn't it better to hire another director instead?
