So the admissions for the new Student of the Year 2 is not filling this year! Fans of the franchise will be disappointed with the latest development, surrounding the movie. Karan Johar, who is producing Student of The Year 2 has tweeted out that the movie has been pushed to Summer 2019! Yes, the Tiger Shroff-Tara Sutaria-Ananya Panday starrer will not hit the movie screens on May 10, 2019. That's quite a long push for a film that was earlier scheduled to come out in November 2018. The movie is directed by Punit Malhotra.

In his tweet, JKaran Johar shared a new poster of the film, along with the new release date. "Summer 2019!!!! 10.05.2019 !! 10th MAY 2019! Summer gets hotter!!! @punitdmalhotra @iTIGERSHROFF #Ananya #Tara @apoorvamehta18 @DharmaMovies @foxstarhindi #StudentOfTheYear2".

Student of the Year 2 was earlier supposed to come out on November 23, 2018 where it had no competition per se on that particular date. However, the month was jam-packed with big releases like Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan's Kedarnath, Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth's 2.0. There is a possibility of SOTY 2 getting jam-packed in between, hence the change in release date.

The first SOTY movie was directed by Karan Johar and came out in 2012. The movie launched the careers of Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
