"Rohan wants to move his studies (or the lack of it) to St Teresa's, because his childhood love Mridula is now studying there. A middle-class Rohan finds himself to be the fish out of the pond in the urbane posh of St Teresa's, where even Mridula (who calls herself Mia now) looks down upon him. There is also the rich siblings, Manav and Shreya, that Rohan has to deal with. Soon, his prowess in dancing and sports get Rohan the attention of both the college and Mia. But a dance competition changes things for their supposed romance and Rohan now looks at facing a rivalry that he never expected to happen. The first half is charming in a bubblegum sort of way. If you have seen the first film, you know what to expect from the sequel. There is a special love for showing the leads in the most glamorous light as possible. The narrative may not be great shakes either and the film lacks the finesse of the first SOTY movie, but it isn't boring either. Also the leads, Tiger, Tara and Ananya give a good account of themselves, despite their kitschy characters. While the first half was almost in the realm of Student of the Year Part I, the sequel looks down to becoming Sharma's version of Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikander. The problem is, Tiger Shroff doesn't look anything like an underdog here."
