After Kalank, Karan Johar's other production venture has now hit the theatres and its Student Of The Year 2. Starring Tiger Shroff in the lead alongside newbies Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria, the film released today, May 10, and has garnered not-so-great reviews. Though SOTY 2 had generated good pre-release buzz with its trailer and songs, it hasn't managed to wow the critics big time. But having said that, the teen romantic drama is off to a decent start at the box office as it witnessed 20% occupancy during the morning shows according to BollywoodHungama. Student of the Year 2 Movie Review: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria’s Film Is All About Good Looks, Good Looks, Good Looks (and Some Flying)!

Further, Boxofficeindia.com has reported, "Student Of The Year 2 took an average opening of around 20-25%. Its a good start for the economics of the film as it does not have a big budget but its the next release after Baaghi 2 when Tiger Shroff smashed the box office and because of his presence the expectations are probably there for a better start."

"The opening in the multiplexes is pretty much in the range of a Total Dhamaal but the collections in Central India and Gujarat are well short of Total Dhamaal. The film is not in the zone of a Baaghi 2 and even though it might have action in it, the film is more of a college musical romance which limits that mass audience." Will Tiger Shroff Starrer Student Of The Year 2 Fare Well at the Box Office Despite Avengers: Endgame? Find Out!

Directed by Punit Malhotra, SOTY 2 also features Aditya Seal in an important role. The film is expected to collect around Rs 10 to Rs 12 crore on day 1 and going by the early trend, it will do so quite comfortably. Despite Avengers: Endgame still running in theatres, Tiger starrer will draw the audience to the cinema halls, especially the young urban crowd, over the first weekend.
