The trailer of Stree was one of the best we have seen in recent times. The horror comedy benefits from the presence of good actors like Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi (both in the finest form of their careers), and the commercial viability of the lovely Shraddha Kapoor. Stree is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK under their banner Maddock Films. The movie is directed by Amar Kaushik.

The first song from Stree, Milegi Milegi, is out and it is a rollicking affair. It recreates a king's darbar and is picturised on Shraddha, Rajkummar, Pankaj, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee, the latter two playing Rao's friend in the film. Shraddha Kapoor displays some of those amazing dance moves that we saw in ABCD 2. Then there is Rajkummar too, who is having the most fun we saw him in any song that he has featured. Shraddha and Rajkummar also share a wonderful, breezy chemistry between them.

Milegi Milegi also works thanks to Mika Singh's energetic singing. The song is composed by Sachin-Jigar. Check the video here -

Talking more about the movie, Stree is believed to be based on the urban legend of Bangalore's Nale Ba. It was said that before Bengaluru became the city it is known now, there was a village there earlier that used to be haunted by a woman's spirit. The spirit would roam the village in the night and call out people's names from outside. Any gullible victim who would open the door would be killed. It was also the subject of an episode in the once-popular Zee Horror Show.

Stree is all set to release on August 31.
