Stree 2 is having an excellent run at the box office in its first weekend. Even though it was released with two major biggies - Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa - Stree 2 has managed to not only be Bollywood's highest-grossing movie of 2024 by beating Fighter (INR 199 crore), but it has managed to do so in merely four days, with the movie expected to gross even more in the coming days. Meanwhile, the other two movies couldn't take advantage of the extended weekend offered by a national holiday on Thursday (Independence Day), and they folded under the one-film-show of Stree 2. ‘Stree 2’ Box Office Collection Day 4: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao Film Earns Whopping INR 283 Crore Worldwide.

Directed by Amar Kaushik and starring Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead, Stree 2 not only hold the record of being one of the highest opening day collections, falling below only Jawan but also one of the fastest to hit INR 200 crore. By the end of its extended opening weekend, Stree 2 has grossed INR 204 crore in India. Is it THE fastest film to do so?

Again, that domestic record stays with Jawan. This Shah Rukh Khan-actioner from 2023, directed by Atlee, did the deed within three days and currently holds the highest-grossing opening weekend collections with INR 280.75 crore.

1. Jawan - INR 643.87 crore

2. Animal - INR 556.36 crore

3. Pathaan - INR 543.05 crore

4. Gadar 2 - INR 525.45 crore

5. Dangal - INR 387.38 crore

Will Stree 2 crack itself into the top 5 Hindi grossers? It has the benefit of Rakshabandhan falling on the first Monday. With the audiences having rejected Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa and no major Hindi releases coming in the second week of its release, it's a clear road for the movie to earn huge in cinemas and make more records.
