Srikanth, the biopic on visually impaired industrialist Srikanth Bolla, has earned favourable reviews from most critics and a warm reception from audiences. Particular praise has been directed at Rajkummar Rao's performance and the movie's feel-good treatment. At the box office, Srikanth achieved Rao's fourth-highest opening weekend with Rs 11.95 crore, behind Stree (Rs 31.26 crore), Judgementall Hai Kya (Rs 19 crore), and Roohi (Rs 12.58 crore). Notably, except for Stree, the other two films did not perform well at the box office. Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 4: Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F’s Film Inches Closer to Rs 15 Crore Mark in India!

On the first Monday, Srikanth saw a drop, earning Rs 1.69 crore, which isn't bad. However, considering Srikanth's rumoured budget, the film is not yet profitable for all involved. Reports suggest the film was made on a speculated budget of Rs 50 crore.

The movie is not performing well overseas. For Srikanth to achieve hit status, it needs to earn more than Rs 60 crore, which means it must perform well in the coming days and sustain its performance for a long run. This is not an impossible task, as seen with Kunal Kemmu's Madgaon Express, which has sustained itself in theatres. Srikanth Movie Review: Rajkummar Rao is Sincere in This Gallery-Pleasing Yet Shallow Biopic.

Fortunately, Srikanth does not face competition in a major way for a couple of weeks. This week, Kartam Bhugtam, starring Shreyas Talpade and Vijay Raaz, releases on May 17. On May 24, the masala action-entertainer Bhaiyya Ji, starring Manoj Bajpayee, will be released. The theatrical competition intensifies on the Friday of May 31. Not only does Rajkummar Rao have another release on this day with Mr & Mrs Mahi, but there are also Baby John (starring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi), Savi: A Bloody Housewife (featuring Anil Kapoor, Divya Khosla Kumar, and Harshvardhan Rane), and Chhota Bheem And The Curse of Damyaan all releasing. Until then, Srikanth can have a smooth run unless its momentum falters.
