In the latest update, a report claims Sridevi to prolong her stay in Dubai post attending her nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding was due to a beautiful reason and related to actress and also the niece, Sonam Kapoor. Sonam Kapoor was one lucky person who was fortunate to have a painting made her late aunt. The deceased Mom actress had sketched a beautiful painting of Sonam shortly after her debut film Saawariya released in 2007. According to Hindustan Times report, an unnamed source was quoted saying, "Sridevi has been painting for many years. It’s her favourite pastime. In 2010, an international art house approached her to auction her work. But she didn't agree. Since the event in Dubai is for a noble cause, it drew her. Sonam has a massive fan following in Dubai and her popularity has grown in the Middle East after her Project Runway outing with Elli Saab. Meanwhile, Times Now report stated that Sridevi stayed back in Dubai to auction off her paintings. Earlier, it was reported the actress had decided to continue her stay in the Arab state to spend some time with her sister, Srilatha. However, Dubai became the last place to witness a living Sridevi. She died at 11 pm on February 24, 2018, from accidental drowning in the bathtub of her hotel room. Sridevi is survived by her husband, film producer Boney Kapoor and two young daughters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor.
