Abhishek Chaubey returns to impress lovers of good Hindi cinema once again with this week's release, Sonchiriya. The movie stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana. Sonchiriya talks about the dacoits of Chambal ravines in the '80s, whose stories have inspired several Bollywood films in the past. Sonchiriya has received some very positive reviews from the critics who watched an early screening. We are watching the film right now and are looking forward to see how true those opinions were. Here's what we think about the first half of Sonchiriya. Sonchiriya Movie: Review, Cast, Box Office Collection, Budget, Story, Trailer, Music of Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, Abhishek Chaubey Film.
"Are dacoits unsavoury films like Gabbar Singh, or victims of the society and the government like the late Phoolan Devi? Abhishek Chaubey's new film, Sonchiriya, tries to open up a conversation Shekhar Kapur's Bandit Queen and Tigmanshu Dhulia's Paan Singh Tomar did in the past with great success. Sonchiriya is about the baaghi gang of Man Singh, who are in the twilight of their menace. A robbery attack at a wedding house proves to be dangerous for the gang, after cops carry out an encounter on them. They also meet a woman on the way who is carrying an injured young girl, raped by her own household.
From the first scene itself, Sonchiriya lured you in the lives of these rebels, getting you to know of their fears and insecurities. The action sequences are well-shot, Chaubey's direction is quite impressive and a shocking death leaves you stunned. The performances are excellent from everyone, especially Sushant and Ranvir. Till now we are impressed with what we saw, and hope the second half continues on the same vibe." Read Sonchiriya Full Movie Review here.
