Sonchiriya in Legal Trouble! Locals Send Legal Notice For Allegedly Showing Chambal in Bad Light in Sushant Singh Rajput-Bhumi Pednekar's Film

Even though the makers are pretty positive about promoting the place, there is this backlash by the Chambal residents and we wonder what the cast and crew has to react to this now.

The norm of Bollywood films getting into a legal trouble before its release is not new anymore. The filmmakers of tinsel town have seen several instances where they have to deal with legal consequences before their films see the light of the day. The recent one which is engulfed in such scenario is Sushant Singh Rajput-Bhumi Pednekar starrer Sonchiriya. The Abhishek Chaubey film is based on the life of dacoits in Chambal. However, the people staying in Chambal in Madhya Pradesh felt offended with by the way the makers have shown the place. Chambal has been always infamous for its dacoit tales. However, the place is equally beautiful and a must-visit-place in the country. And, this is what the makers of the recently tried to emphasize in a video, promoting Chambal Tourism. The actors appealed to the fans to pay a visit to this serene place gifted by the nature God. However, the residents felt that the portrayal of their land has not been done in an appropriate way in the storyline. Hence, they have a sent a legal notice to the makers.

“Chambal is not the easiest place to shoot. It's beautiful, it's gorgeous to look at, it's very well on celluloid. But, some of the locations we liked were completely inaccessible. So, there was no way of reaching these locations, but I was determined to shooting in those locations. We were there for three months but half the time my team had to shoot on locations where we had to create roads to get there,” said the director while speaking with an entertainment portal.
