Bollywood never expected Salman Khan to get convicted in the two decade old blackbuck poaching case, but he did. The Jodhpur Court found him guilty and sentenced him to a five year jail term. Salman had to spend two nights in jail, before his legal team could manage to get him out on bail some time back on a surety of Rs 50000.
As Salman Khan spent two days behind the bars, many of his friends and colleagues came out in support of him like Jaya Bachchan, Shatrughan Sinha, Varun Dhawan, Daisy Shah etc. Some of them called him innocent while others blasted the law for being 'harsh' on him. And there are some who just wrote that they are with Salman Khan's side. Like Sonam Kapoor.
For her Saawariya and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo co-star, Sonam Kapoor posted the below message on Twitter,
You’re the best! Always by your side! pic.twitter.com/40GrtD4afU
— Sonam Kapoor (@sonamakapoor) April 7, 2018
Her tweet didn't go down well with Twitter users who called her out for being a hypocrite. They reminded her of her previous tweets where she condemned animal cruelty, and trolled her for supporting a convicted animal killer. The below tweet says it all,
Massakalli acting as HypocrisyKali... pic.twitter.com/7L29V1b3cY

Feminism or Friendship? What takes priority?
Shit. Almost the entire industry turns into a fking doormat when it comes to this guy. @sonamakapoor ji, this was the occasion you could've truly shown your feminist values and compassion towards animals that you keep harping on about. #SalmanConvicted https://t.co/ICCs1l2W6m

Is Bollywood impervious to law?
Huh so crimes deserve punishment only when the criminal isnt high profile & has nothing to do with y'all https://t.co/KAXjOZKtgd

Agree to the point. But what's 'engendered'?
Exhibit 1: Don’t burn firecrackers because dogs get scared.
Exhibit 2: Salman bhai is the best. He only killed an engendered animal. https://t.co/941hkEarmI

We don't know what to say for Sonam Kapoor. Of course, she has to come out in support of Salman Khan, who has been close to her and her family. If she had to forsake him, she should have done that years ago, like others in Bollywood, when he was implicated in the hit-and-run case and the blackbuck poaching case. In short it comes to this, when it comes to friendship and justice - what do you opt for?
