Sonam Kapoor Gets More Hate For Tying Mangalsutra Around Her Wrist - Read Deets
Sonam, who was recently married to businessman Anand Ahuja, was recently seen at a promotional event, wearing her mangalsutra tied around her wrist as a bracelet.
Sonam Kapoor is known for calling for a spade a spade (well, mostly), and she has often found herself at the receiving end of any trolls and haters for her bold stance. Her feminist views and her attitude of not sticking to the tried-n-tested norms have often landed Sonam in various controversies, but the actress has hardly cared for such negative views. Recently, an observation by certain haters has brought the spotlight on Sonam Kapoor, or rather, her dressing style.
Sonam, who was recently married to businessman Anand Ahuja, was recently seen at a promotional event, wearing her mangalsutra tied around her wrist as a bracelet. While fashion watchers had appreciated this new twist, certain Twitter users have slammed Sonam for 'insulting' the sacred thread.
One Twitter user wrote, "Mangalsutra is not compulsion but it is love by wife for her husband. And it should always be nearby heart for which it is weared [sic] in neck. This bollywood is declining our culture day by day as they grow up in foreign”.
Another Twitter has this to say, "So mangal sutra can be wore as bracelet... you don't follow religion don't. Why all this drama? (sic)". One more adverse view - "This is the problem of so called feminests... Not following tradition is absolutely fine but tweaking it to your convenience is WRONG. (sic)"
And there is a smartass who uses Sonam's own dialogue from Veere Di Wedding against her, "@sonamakapoor abused mangalsutra in movie and later being found designing the one for herself. As she rightly said in movie jb tk bc mangalsutra gale me nahi padta life incomplete rehte hai".
Well, what can we say, to each his own! Sonam Kapoor will be seen next in Veere Di Wedding, that also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania. The movie is scheduled to release on June 1.
