Sonam Kapoor made her way to a different league of actors when her film Neerja came out. Touted as one of Sonam's best performances till date, Neerja turns three today. The film, directed by Ram Madhvani is based on the life of Neerja Bhanot who sacrificed her life for helping save 359 of the 379 passengers and crew on board Pan Am Flight 73 that was hijacked in Pakistan. In the video shared on Instagram, the actress is seen talking about how her experience of meeting Neerja's mother was. She also shared glimpses where Neerja's mother was on shoot on several occasions and during one of the interviews with a section of media, she referred to Sonam as her own daughter saying, "Ye toh meri Neerja hai." Thanks to Neerja, Sonam's life actually changed, for the good. Previously, she was slammed a couple of times for not knowing how to act and for the kind of roles she chose to portray on screen. All of that changed and she emerged as one of the most successful actors in B-Town. There is no stopping to her after that. In the last three years, after Neerja, Sonam has opted for some versatile, bold and hatke characters to essay on screen. From Veere Di Wedding to Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga; she is the only actress to have dared to go beyond the usual 'typical' roles and opt for something totally out-of-the-box.
