Salman Khan's latest film Bharat has opened to extremely positive reactions from the fans. The movie sees his character age from a kid to an old man. The movie features Sonali Kulkarni playing his mother. In reality, Sonali is younger than Salman. This fact drew criticism from many. Talking about this, Sonali said in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, said that she stands by her decision to do the role. She reminded us that she also played Hrithik Roshan's mother in Mission Kashmir in 2000. "My roles are my choice. I have to stand by my choice proudly, which I do. I am touched with the audience’s and critics’ observation. But I also played Hrithik adoptive mom in Mission Kashmir back in 2000," she said. Sonali further added, "People will definitely comment, and they are right. But it’s not like every time it comes out of criticism, it sometimes, comes out of concern also,"
The actress further added that she is content with whatever Bollywood has given her to do. "At times, people say regional cinema has offered me more variety than Hindi commercial cinema, which I agree with. But I wouldn’t like to say, ‘How I wish Hindi cinema gave me this or that’. I am very grateful for the work that I am getting,” she said. Bharat has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The movie also stars Katrina Kaif. The movie has raked in Rs 167 crore at the domestic box office as of day 7. It is now eyeing to enter the Rs 200 crore club.
