Actor-turned-politician Shatrughan Sinha on Thursday (March 28) announced that he is quitting Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and joining Congress. This announcement ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections has left the nation surprised. Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter, actress Sonakshi Sinha has backed her father’s decision of quitting BJP and by stating that “he should have done it long ago”. On March 28 Shatrughan Sinha tweeted, “Painfully....on the way out of BJP....But hopefully in the best direction under the dynamic leadership of my dear friend Lalu Yadav and the desirable, most talked about leader from the Nehru Gandhi family... the true family of nation builders...”Sonkahsi Sinha expressed her views at the HT India’s Most Stylish 2019 Awards ceremony and supported her father's decision. ANI quoted the actress saying, “Being a party member from beginning, from time of JP Narayan ji, Atal ji & Advani ji my father has a lot of respect within party and I feel the entire group hasn’t been given the respect they deserve.
