Sonakshi Sinha was last seen in Karan Johar's Kalank and unfortunately, the film did not take off well at the box office, neither did it receive any good reviews. Although, this should not put Sonakshi on a sad note given that she has some other big projects lined up such as Akshay Kumar starrer Mission Mangal as well as Salman Khan's Dabangg 3. Sonakshi Sinha took to Twitter to announce the details of her upcoming film, Khandaani Shafakhana. The film stars her along with Varun Sharma, Annu Kapoor and Bollywood's favourite rapper, Badshah. Earlier, there were reports about Sonakshi playing a character of a young girl working in a sex clinic in Punjab’s Hoshiarpur and Annu Kapoor will be seen as her boss but we are yet to know if this is the plot of the film. At this point, all we know is that this is a slice of life film.

The film is being helmed by debutante director, Shilpi Dasgupta. It is being produced by T-Series and is all set to release on July 26. The film is headed for a box office clash with Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao starrer Mental Hai Kya which was recently postponed. Looks like we will be getting a glimpse of the first look poster really soon considering the release date has now been announced.
