Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's film Simmba will easily surpass the Rs 240 crore mark at the Indian box office over this weekend. The film, directed by Rohit Shetty, is currently in its fourth week and is still maintaining a good run at the ticket windows. The cop drama is also faring exceptionally well overseas and at the worldwide box office, Simmba is slowly inching towards the Rs 400 crore mark which is brilliant. Despite not pleasing the critics, the film has been loved the audiences and hence has managed to become one of the highest grossing films of 2018. Coming back to box office figures, trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to microblogging site Twitter and revealed the updated numbers. He tweeted, "#Simmba is maintaining well on weekdays... Should comfortably cross ₹ 240 cr in Weekend 5... [Week 4] Fri 66 lakhs, Sat 1.22 cr, Sun 1.85 cr, Mon 58 lakhs, Tue 70 lakhs, Wed 63 lakhs. Total: ₹ 238.13 cr. India biz."
Though Ranveer starrer saw a dip in the collections after the release of Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike, the cop drama picked up the pace again at the box office and is now going steady. Well, with Uri ruling the box office and two big films arriving this Friday - Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui's Thackarey - it seems like a herculean task for Simmba to cross the Rs 250 crore mark at the BO. Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see how things pan out after Kangana and Nawaz grace the big screen.
