On day 8, the film continues to show an upward growth raking in a fine amount at the ticket windows. The action-drama collected Rs 9.02 crore taking the total to Rs 159.83 crore. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Simmba starts Week 2 with a bang... Will cross ₹ 175 cr in Weekend 2 itself... Will make an entry into ₹ 200 cr Club before Week 2 concludes... On the other hand, some of the fans criticized Rohit Shetty and accused him of using a sensitive topic like rape in a mass entertainer. On this, the filmmaker told a popular entertainment portal, "At this point in my career, if I may say so, I don't require a plot or an issue like this to sell my product. It just came genuinely from my heart and this is my point of view. When you see the movie, there might be a debate on cops killing the rapist but that's my POV.
