Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan's Simmba is in its second week and the film is still getting cash registers ringing which is mighty impressive. After entering the coveted Rs 200 core club on day 12, Simmba then went pass the lifetime collections of Ajay Devgn's blockbuster Golmaal Again on day 13 by raking in a total of Rs 208.14 crore at the domestic box office. And now the cop drama, which is directed by Rohit Shetty, has achieved yet another milestone. Well, the masala entertainer has surpassed the lifetime business of Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 210 crore) in just 14 days.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to popular microblogging site Twitter just a while back and announced the updated figures. He wrote, "#Simmba has a fantastic Week 2... Witnessed good trending across the week, which added to an impressive total... [Week 2] Fri 9.02 cr, Sat 13.32 cr, Sun 17.49 cr, Mon 6.16 cr, Tue 6.03 cr, Wed 5.31 cr, Thu 4.29 cr. Total: ₹ 212.43 cr. India biz."
Adarsh further tweeted, "#Simmba now eyes ₹ 225 cr in Weekend 3, which should be an easy target to achieve... Much depends on the BO response to the new films [#UriTheSurgicalStrike, #TheAccidentalPrimeMinister] and to what extent they affect #Simmba, especially at multiplexes."
Coming back to Ranveer, the actor who is currently riding high on the success of Simmba, will next be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy alongside Alia Bhatt. The trailer of the film released a few days back and garnered positive response not just from the B-town folks but also from the audiences. Going by Ranveer's current form, it seems 2019 will also belong to the talented actor.
