Simmba Movie Review: Ranveer Singh Roars In This Weak Singham Clone That Trivialises a Serious Crime
Ranveer starrer Simmba has taken a great start at the box office as it has collected somewhere in the range of Rs 21-22 crore on its opening day. Earlier, trade analysts were expecting the movie to earn around Rs 25 crore on the opening day, leading to Rs 100 crore in just four days. However, 22 is not bad either and also the film will see a good growth over the weekend as the moviegoers are looking for a good Bollywood movie to watch around New Year after being disappointment with Shah Rukh Khan's Zero. So, we can expect that many will flock to theaters to watch Ranveer Singh's Simmba.
Rohit’s film is a cop-drama adapted from the Telugu hit Temper, where Ranveer will be seen playing a notorious cop named Sangram Bhalerao in the film. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the film also stars Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. Bankrolled by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Simmba also has cameo by Ajay Devgn as Baji Rao Singham.
Talking about the movie, our in-house film critic Sreeju Sudhakaran wrote in his review, "Watch Simmba for Ranveer Singh, if you are in love with his enthusiastic charm and unbridled energy. Apart from that, this clone of Singham offers very little to offer, other than being a nearly three-hour-long tease for three upcoming movies! I admire Rohit Shetty and Karan Johar (co-producer)for thinking out of the box and creating Singham-verse. Having said that, they would have done much favour to Ranveer if they didn't make Simmba, the Iron Man 2 of this universe!"
