Simmba star Sonu Sood who has all the reasons to be on cloud nine after the big success of his last release finds himself in a legal soup. BMC has slapped a notice on the actor for illegally converting a Juhu residence into a functioning hotel. The Municipal body insists that he doesn't have the required clearing certificates and the actor, on the other hand, believes he isn't doing anything illegally. The regularisation of the property in Juhu's Shiv Sagar building was under process. BMC officials in their conversation with Mid-Day confirmed that Sood has not received all the norms to operate a lodging and boarding facility in the residential building of Juhu. Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Manikarnika’ Co-Director Krish Opens Up! Reveals the Real Reason Why Sonu Sood Walked Out of the Film!

The actor had filed a proposal in 2018 to the BP Department of BMC's K-West ward office for converting the residential premises into a lodging and boarding one. However, since his appeal didn't satisfy all the norms, BMC had to reject it and since then he hasn't submitted a new one. One can also view its progress on the official website of the civic body that tracks such proposals.

K-West ward officials inspected the premises on Thursday to verify the complaint filed by a Civic Activist. An official who requested to be anonymous confirmed the status of their inspection to the tabloid by saying that the lodging didn't have a license to go ahead, and hence a prosecution against the actor would be initiated soon. A senior officer of the department, who did not wish to be named, said, "We had asked for compliance of several aspects pertaining to fire safety, FSI consumption and parking requirement details among others. The plot also falls under the Coastal Regulation Zone but has been approved according to the DCR 1967 (Development Control Regulations)." Abhishek Bachchan Trolling Sonu Sood Over His Shirtless Pics Is Basically Every Gym-Hating Friend Ever!

However, when Sonu was contacted to reveal his side of the story, he refused the allegations saying he always follows a protocol. "I also have the necessary shops and establishment licences with me and the regularisation is already under process. There are a few more documents that the BMC needs and my architect will provide them shortly. Since it is an old building, a lot of paperwork is involved. I have been supporting the BMC and recently even got the garbage cleared from a nearby place which was turned into a dumping yard," he said. The hotel named Shakti Sagar is available on various websites and civic activist, Ganesh Kusumulu, who lodged a complaint believes this is unfair since it doesn't have the necessary license. We now wait to see if the actor submits his fresh piece of appeal and gets a hassle-free go-ahead from the civic body.
