Sidharth Malhotra is all set to do the first biopic of his career. He is playing the Kargil martyr Captain Vikram Batra in a movie made on his life and later, sacrifice during the 1999 Kargil war. Earlier Abhishek Bachchan had played Batra in JP Dutt's LOC-Kargil. While LOC Kargil was an ensemble movie that featured sacrifices of many Indian heroes, Sidharth Malhotra's film will focus on Batra's personal life and his war conquests.
The biopic will be produced by Sidharth's mentor Karan Johar, along with Shabbir Boxwala, and directed by Vishnu Vardhan. Now as per a report in Bollywood Hungama, the pretty Kiara Advani is roped in as the female lead, playing Batra's girlfriend Dimple Cheema in the movie (Esha Deol had played the role in LOC Kargil). Kiara Advani, better known for playing Sakshi Dhoni in MS Dhoni: The Untold Story), was last seen in Lust Stories, in the segment directed by Karan Johar himself. She will also be seen in a small role in Johar's production, Kalank (that stars Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Kunal Kemmu).
Speaking more about the Captain Batra (who had posthumously won Param Vir Chakra, India's highest gallantry award) biopic, Sidharth Malhotra is reportedly having a double role in the movie, of that of Vikram Batra and his younger brother. This will be the first double role for Malhotra.
