After signing to play the lead in the Kargil war martyr, Captain Vikram Batra biopic, Sidharth Malhotra has reportedly given his nod to an Ekta Kapoor production. Titled Shotgun Shaadi, Sidharth Malhotra will be seen in a different avatar in this unusual rom-com. The movie is based on the deplorable practice in Bihar of kidnapping goons and getting them married to girls by the latter's clan so that they can avoid paying dowry. Sidharth is playing a Bihari thug in the movie, and he has already begun prepping up for the same.

Now, as per certain speculations, the actor might be romancing Dangal girl Fatima Sana Shaikh in the movie. Fatima, who started off as a child actor in Kamal Haasan's Chachi 420, is currently shooting for Aamir Khan's Thugs of Hindostan. If the reports turn out to be true, this will be Fatima's third movie as the lead. Earlier, Shraddha Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra were also in the running for the role of the female lead. However, there is no official confirmation on this. Also  DNA reports that Fatima has not yet chosen as the female lead. An insider revealed to DNA, “It will be either Parineeti or Shraddha. Fatima isn’t even on the minds of the producer or the director.”

Coming back to Sidharth's preparation for the role, a source close to the actor revealed to DNA, "Sid will be putting on weight for the film, but only in the form of muscle. He wants to have a fit and toned physique for Shotgun Shaadi. He has been gymming consistently and has also taken to aqua exercises for the same. He has hired a language coach who’s helping him learn a Bihari dialect and get the accent right."

This will be second collaboration of Sidharth Malhotra with Ekta Kapoor after the success of Ek Villain.
