We had earlier written about how Satyameva Jayate director Milap Anand Zaveri is making another thriller called Marjaavaan. The movie brings back the jodi of Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh, after playing enemies in Mohit Suri's Ek Villain. Both the stars had received high praise for their performances in the film, especially Riteish's first-time negative turn. Now there is a new update in the casting process. Rakul Preet has been added in the cast, paired opposite Sidharth Malhotra in the film. Tara Sutaria to Play Sidharth Malhotra's Leading Lady In Milap Zaveri's Next Marjaavaan.

Interestingly, Rakul is the second female lead added in Marjaavaan after Student of the Year 2 debutante Tara Sutaria has been cast earlier. Rakul has earlier worked with Sidharth in the spy thriller, Aiyaary that had released earlier this year. The movie, unfortunately, tanked at the box office. Confirming her casting to Mumbai Mirror, Rakul said, "Sid is a friend and I know he has been wanting to do something different, commercial and massy for a while. This is that film! I have already told him I liked both the script and his look pictures." Milap also shared his happiness in working with Rakul in the film, as he added, "Rakul is one of the most talented actresses of her generation. No wonder she is the reigning queen in South! I needed someone beautiful and powerful for the role in Marjaavaan and she was the perfect choice. So excited to have her on board!”  Marjaavaan is reportedly releasing in October 2019.
