Zaira Wasim took everyone was surprise with her recent social media post announcing her disassociation from films. The 18-year-old who shot to fame with Aamir Khan's Dangal and later floored everyone with her performance in Secret Superstar has now decided to quit films. Taking to her social media, Zaira posted a long note explaining what led her to take this decision. In her post, the Sky Is Pink actress stressed that she has been unhappy because her profession has been interfering with her faith and religion. While social media has been abuzz with reactions to Zaira's decision and while some have sided with her, there are many who disregarded her reasoning of bringing religion into the picture. Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon recently responded to Zaira's news and even called her view 'regressive'. Now actor, Siddharth who is known for his outspokenness on social media has also reacted to the same. The actor did not outrightly diss Zaira's decision but did mention how religion did not have a place in the profession.
He wrote, "It's your life. Do whatever you want. Wish you only the best for your future. I believe our art and our profession is our life. We fight to keep religion out of it. It doesn't belong here. If your religion made you do this, maybe you didn't belong here after all. "Godspeed". Expressing concern over the profession impacting her faith, she wrote, "This field indeed brought a lot of love, support, and applause my way, but what it also did was to lead me to a path of ignorance, as I silently and unconsciously transitioned out of 'imaan' (faith). While I continued to work in an environment that consistently interfered with my 'imaan', my relationship with my religion was threatened."
