It looks like 2018 is where celebs have all decided to make it the year of love and marriages. We had Sonam Kapoor getting married to Anand Ahuja and then Neha Dhupia got married to Angad Bedi. Not to forget, Himesh Reshammiya got married again! Now we hear that Shweta Basu Prasad, who impressed us as a child star in Vishal Bharadwaj's Makdee and Nagesh Kukunoor's Iqbal, is all set to marry her long-time boyfriend Rohit Mittal. The couple has got engaged over the weekend in a strictly private affair with the exchange of rings. Congrats to both!

It was Times of India who broke the news to the fans. A source close to the couple told the publication, "The two have been together for four years now and got engaged last year. Both belong to the film fraternity and have collaborated on short films. Not many know that filmmaker Anurag Kashyap was instrumental in getting the two together as both Shweta and Rohit are close to him."

The source also revealed that it was Shweta who proposed first and later it was reciprocated by Rohit. "Though the feeling was mutual, it was Shweta who proposed to Rohit in Goa first. He then proposed her in Pune (his hometown). While marriage is on the cards, the couple is not in a hurry to walk down the aisle”, the source added.

Shweta, who was last seen playing Varun Dhawan's sister-in-law in Badrinath Ki Dulhania, later confirmed the news to TOI as she revealed, “Yes, it is true. Rohit and I are engaged but both of us are extremely private about our personal lives so we don’t talk about it.”

Watch this space for more updates on when the couple will make the wedding bells ring. Also once again, congrats!
