Shabana Azmi’s mother, veteran actress Shaukat Azmi passed away on November 22. Wife of renowned late Urdu poet and lyricist Kaifi Azmi, her last rites will be performed today in Mumbai. Many Bollywood celebs have arrived at Shabana Azmi’s residence to pay their last respects. Aamir Khan’s wife Kiran Rao, Rekha, Farhan Akhtar with Shibani Dandekar, Amitabh Bachchan, Urmila Matondkar, Saiyami Kher, Rishi Kapoor, and many others have been photographed. Shaukat Azmi breathed her last on Friday evening after suffering from cardiac arrest. The 93-year-old was unwell since quite sometime. Writer and lyricist Javed Akhtar was quoted as saying, “She was 93 and was having one problem after another. She was admitted to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. For certain days she was in the ICU and then she was out of ICU. It was all age related,” reports PTI. He also said, “Ultimately they brought her home.
