Shamita Shetty who was born on February 2, 1979, celebrates her 38th birthday today. The Mohabbatein actress has decided to keep it a low- key affair especially, after the demise of her father Surendra Shetty in 2016. The little sister of Shilpa Shetty, instead, chooses to spend some quality time at old- age home and this year too she will follow the same plan. Ms Shetty, who has been away from the Bollywood limelight for quite few years now, is quietly working with this old- age home since some years.

Revealing about her birthday at this place, the Zeher actress was quoted by DNA, saying, “I am very close to this old-age home, I love visiting them. This birthday, too, I will spend some time with them. The intent is always to make them smile. I do it because it makes me happy. I’m grateful for the life I have and if I can help the less-fortunate in any way, I want to do it. It’s terrible that children send their parents to old-age homes instead of taking care of them. They need more people to visit them and show them love.”

Shamita was last seen in web series ‘Yo Ke Hua Bro’ and now is taking her own sweet time to decide about her next venture. As quoted by HT, Shamita also revealed how her star sister always tries to give her a surprise party but fails anyway! She said, “On my birthday, every year, my sister Shilpa tries to throw a ‘surprise’ party for me, but it just doesn’t end up being one! She’s terrible with surprises.” Well, we are sure one would not mind ditching a regular birthday party, especially after the emotional moments spent at the old age home.
