Shahid Kapoor has been making the audience go gaga over the choice of his films. After his stellar performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, he is getting a wider response by the filmmaker for similar path-breaking roles. Now, apart from the mass entertainer, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, he will also be seen in a biopic. He will be essaying the role of a boxer from Manipur, Ngangom Dingko Singh, known as Dingko Singh. He is the first and only Asian gold medallist boxer from India in the Bantamweight category and battled cancer. Sasha is extremely thrilled to bring his life on the silver screen.

Speaking to Bombay Times, the 37-year-old actor said, “Dingko is a cancer survivor, and he went through 13 rounds of chemotherapy. He has even gone on to say that his biggest win was surviving cancer and not the gold medal he won at the age of 19 at the Asian Games in Bangkok (1998). He is a sports star who survived cancer, and at some point in his past, he had almost become a Naxalite. His life story is unbelievably crazy; it is very human and extremely inspiring. Such amazing stories of heroes need to be told.” Misha Kapoor Turns 2! Check Out Inside Pictures and Video of Shahid Kapoor and Mira's Daughter's Birthday Party

Shahid also mentioned how we would not have known much about the Phogat sisters had the film on them was not made by the Dangal makers. The film will be directed by Raja Krishna Menon who earlier gave much-loved films like Airlift and Chef. It is reportedly going to hit the floors in 2019. Now, that explains to us his chiselled body pictures on Instagram. Definitely, a lot of efforts will be needed to put by the star and we cannot wait to see how it turns out to be on the big screen. Stay tuned for more updates.
