We have been saying this before and we are saying this again. Starting from August and going till December, the movie-going audiences will be spoilt for choice every Friday, since multiple films are coming out on the same day. This week too, expect a variety of films coming out in Bollywood and Hollywood. Of course, the biggie of the week is Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor's Batti Gul Meter Chalu. There are four Hindi films coming out tthis week, not to mention three big Hollywood films too. While there is no doubt that Shahid Kapoor's film will take the lead, the question is how much will the other films eat into its share? Let's look at the Bollywood and Hollywood movies coming out this week.

Batti Gul Meter Chalu

This social drama is directed by Shree Narayan Singh of Toilet - Ek Prem Katha fame. Shahid Kapoor plays a Hrishikesh-based lawyer who fights a legal battle against the electricity board for unfairly charging consumers exorbitantly. Shraddha Kapoor is the female lead.

Manto

After making the critically acclaimed Firaaq a decade back, actress Nandita Das returns to helm another film that's based on the life of controversial writer Saddat Hassan Manto. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the lead, while the movie features an ensemble supporting cast in Rasika Duggal, Rajshri Deshpande, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Javed Akhtar and Rishi Kapoor among others.

Ishqeria

This long-delayed film stars Neil Nitin Mukesh and Richa Chadha in the lead. The movie is directed by Prerna Wadhawan.

III Smoking Barrels

This multi-lingual film stars Indraneil Sengupta in the lead, and is directed by directed by Sanjib Dey.

The House with a Clock in Its Walls

Eli Roth directs this dark adventure film aimed at children. Jack Black, Cate Blanchett, and Owen Vaccaro play the leads in this film.

The Equaliser 2

The sequel to the 2014 action thriller, Denzel Washington returns for more pow-wow in this film made by Antoine Fuqua. The others in the cast include Pedro Pascal, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman.

Crazy Rich Asians

Currently, the flavour of Hollywood this season, Crazy Rich Asians has a cast dominated with mostly Asian actors and is one of the bigger hits of the year.
