Shahid Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu has been grabbing the headlines sadly for wrong reasons. The Shree Narayan Singh directorial has reportedly been going through a financial turmoil. Some media reports also suggested that the tiff and financial issues between director and producer Prernaa Arora's KriArj Entertainment was the major reason for the delay. Now, as per the reports in Midday, it has been three months that the movie has not started with its schedule. The second schedule was supposed to start in April. However, there has been no word on the same.
If you ask about Shraddha and Shahid, they are currently busy in their other films, reports the tabloid. While Shraddha has been roped in Baahubali fame Prabhas starrer Saaho, Shahid will be seen in the remake of South Indian film Arjun Reddy. BGMC is however slated to release on August 31.
Earlier, when Prernaa was asked about these rumors by Mirror, she refuted them saying, "I don’t want to encourage rumours. We wrapped up 60 percent of Batti Gul Meter Chalu in Uttarakhand. After that, Shree left for Vaishno Devi and returned on March 31. He is now on a recee for the Mumbai schedule. Shraddha’s dates aren’t available as she is simultaneously shooting for Stree and Saaho. We are scheduled to resume shooting in April and May. Since Shraddha is unavailable, we will be shooting with Shahid after Shree is done with the recee."
Incidentally, KriArj Entertainment has also been in the tiff with the films Parmanu and Kedarnath. However, the makers of Batti Gul Meter Chalu denied having any differences between each other. Let us hope that the film gets right back on track soon!
