Gowtam Tinnanauri’s is remaking the Nani starrer with Shahid in the lead as the cricketer. Pankaj will play the role of his mentor who will show him the right path during the moments of confusion. Mumbai Mirror quoted Pankaj saying, "Jersey is a strong story-driven by emotions. Working with Shahid has always been interesting. I admire his ability to portray emotions beautifully." Not just Kapoor but the director shared mutual feelings too! He said, "Pankaj sir is such a great actor. We have all grown up watching his work. To be able to direct him is a great honour and I know that he fits the role of a mentor perfectly."

Well, the last time we saw the father-son duo work was during Shaandaar. All the Sasha fans know the fate of the film and would probably love to forget that the flick even existed in the first place! But then, what kind of stellar performers Shahid and Pankaj Kapoor are, one can easily let go off such harmless duds and rope them in the next hitmaker. Because no matter what, the pair of Sasha-Pankaj, will always be a real treat for all the cine-goers.
