It’s a memorable Monday for Padmaavat stars, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor. The two are getting their first-ever wax statue in London’s famous wax museum Madame Tussauds. While we were still celebrating the news of the Bollywood actress getting immortalised in wax, the handsome hunk doubled up our joy by making his big announcement. Both Shahid and Deepika took to Instagram to share a few behind-the-shot photos, and it is making us so look forward to their wax figures. With their latest feat, the two will join the world’s biggest superstars at the Madame Tussauds in London and Delhi. The 36-year-old Batti Gul Meter Chalu actor shared a sneak-peek photograph in which he is seen holding an artificial eyeball after choosing from a briefcase of eyeballs in different colours. Shahid captioned the image as, “Keep an eye out. Coming soon.” Shahid who made his debut in 2003 with Ishq Vishk is finally getting the honour of having his own wax statue in the prestigious Madame Tussauds after fifteen years of hard work in the industry.
Meanwhile, the wait for getting her wax statue has been relatively shorter for Bollywood’s reigning queen, Deepika Padukone. She made her debut in 2007's Om Shanti Om with superstar actor Shah Rukh Khan and is now all set to join him at the Madame Tussauds’ Bollywood section. Her first wax statue will be unveiled in London early next year. This will be followed by another wax statue at the Madame Tussauds Delhi.
The 32-year-old posted four pictures from the prepping days of her wax figure. It shows her holding artificial eyeball, hair and in general a lot of posing and fun. Deeps captioned this memorable Insta post as, “It’s all about the details 🤔😁.” The team of Madame Tussauds’ expert artists met the actress in London and took over 200 specific measurements and photographs to create an authentic look.
The actress shared more information about her wax figure and how she felt during a Facebook Live session. “I am so delighted. Sitting with the team of experts was a special experience, and I look forward to it,” she said. Deepika shared that the only time she had ever visited Madame Tussauds London before was with her parents when she was very young. “That memory has sort of stayed with me,” said the actress. “And then to receive the letter and be a part of the experience feels great.”
