Good news for Shah Rukh Khan's philanthropic efforts! The Meer Foundation, established in 2013 primarily to support women acid attack victims, has been granted a license for five years under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Meer Foundation, classified as a 'social' NGO, is now listed to receive foreign contributions. This allows the NGO to receive foreign donations, significantly boosting its resources to aid this critical cause. The FCRA license to the Meer Foundation was reportedly granted some months ago. This year alone, 175 organisations have received FCRA approval, including Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom's boxing foundation. However, it's important to note that the government maintains strict oversight. The FCRA unit has audited over 335 NGOs since 2019 to ensure compliance with funding regulations.
