On November 2, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan celebrated his 53rd birthday and a large pool of fans had gathered outside Mannat to catch a glimpse of the Zero actor. Shah Rukh too stepped out in the balcony to greet his fans post midnight, waved out to them and blew kisses as they hooted and cheered for their favourite star. However, there will always be few fans, who wish to meet the superstar in person or stand outside the gate for hours just to get a glimpse of him, but don't get the chance to see him. Yes, you read that right. "The 26-year-old crazy fan, on Sunday, slashed himself with a blade outside the residence of film superstar Shah Rukh Khan in suburban Bandra after failing to meet him," said Girish Anavkar, Senior Inspector of Bandra police station. Salim, who was rushed to the nearby hospital, sustained minor injuries in the neck in the incident. However, the man was discharged from nearby Bhabha hospital following preliminary treatment, the police added. Reportedly, Salim wanted to meet Khan and had been waiting for three hours in vain outside the actor's residence.

Speaking of Shah Rukh, the actor will be seen in Aanand L Rai's upcoming film Zero. The film is set against the backdrop of Meerut, which presents the story of Bauua Singh, a vertically challenged man played by Shah Rukh. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. While SRK will be seen playing a midget, Anushka Sharma essays the role of a scientist with a disability and Katrina Kaif is a superstar in the film, who is subjected to alcoholism.
