Shah Rukh Khan To Be Seen in a Cop-Drama Based on Inspector Ghalib?
This Madhur Bhandarkar film will not be like Dabangg or Simmba!
You know how Shah Rukh Khan is a strong believer of ‘make a wish and the entire universe rearranges itself to fulfil it.’ Well, we guess this has once again happened it but not in some film like Om Shanti Om but in real life. During a recent event held for Mumbai Police a.k.a Umang 2019, SRK had wished to do a cop film as he has never been a cop in any of his films. Now, reports say that Madhur Bhandarkar is all set to give him the role of dreams in his next film, likely to be based on Inspector Ghalib. Wait, What! Shah Rukh Khan Was the First Choice For Mani Ratnam's Raavan.
A source told to a publication, “Cop films are doing well. Inspector Ghalib is the story of a cop who is up in arms against illegal sand mining in various parts of the country, and he takes on the sand mafia. And like every other Madhur film, this will not be a movie like a Simmba or a Singham. It will cock-a-snook at the issue and will tickle the underbelly of the system that supports illegal sand mining."
This sounds as another interesting project in superstar’s way and fans will be more than happy to see him in that role. Another source told pinkvilla, “Madhur Bhandarkar had a meeting with Shah Rukh Khan and narrated the script to him. SRK has liked it but he is yet to give his nod to the filmmaker. Since Shah Rukh has opted out of Saare Jahan Se Achcha, he is considering different roles and projects. Inspector Ghalib is one of them."
Meanwhile, ironically, we will soon see him as a baddie in another film which is Farhan Akhtar’s directorial Don 3. After the actor-filmmaker gave us two successful instalments, the third instalment is highly anticipated. So, after this, it will be fun to see him getting into the uniform of a police. We hope that he says yes!
