It is a proud moment for all Bollywood fanatics as the King of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to be felicitated at the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s 48th Annual Meeting. The much-loved superstar of tinsel town will be handed the prestigious 24th Annual Crystal Awards at Davos on January 22, 2018.  King Khan’s exemplary work in the field of social cause related to women and children’s rights in India has helped him add another feather to his cap. The official website of the WEF reads, ‘Each of them in their own way has taken action to uphold human dignity.’

The Zero star has been constantly contributing his bit to the society through his non- profit 'Meer Foundation'. The organisation largely focuses on supporting females who have been victims of acid attack and critical burn injuries. The Foundation also provides medical, legal, vocational aid along with rehabilitation and livelihood support.

On receiving this award, the modest 52-year old Bollywood superstar took to microblogging site Twitter and expressed his gratitude by saying, “Thank you for this honour. I consider my work with these heroic and beautiful women a great privilege as it imparts dignity and purpose to my life. I hope to spread awareness of the unparalleled heroism of these ladies and reach out to others in order to carry this work to its conclusion."

Apart from Shah Rukh Khan, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also grace this mega event. Interestingly, he will be the first Indian Prime Minister to attend WEF after 18 years. Coming back to SRK, he will be next seen in Aanand L Rai directed ‘Zero’ also starring Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma The Raees actor also hosts the show Ted Talks India.
