The whole nation is eagerly for director Ayan Mukerji's next film, Brahmastra, a fantasy adventure. The movie features Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in lead roles but more on that later. First, we need to talk about the latest Instagram post published by Ayan. Long before he became the acclaimed filmmaker that he is, Ayan worked as assistant director on a few films. Two of these films starred Shah Rukh Khan - the actor Ayan grew up idolizing. The director posted a picture where he is hugging Shah Rukh, who has tearful eyes. Ayan's Instagram caption for the post reveals the full story. He is only a stand-in for another actor in the frame. You know before actually shooting the scene, filmmakers check the blocking with a stand-in at times. Ayan simply landed the chance to hug Shah Rukh because of this. The picture is so precious to Ayan and his mother that it is hung at his home, frame and prized.
Ayan wrote, "This photo is framed and put up in my house by my mother who considered it the height of my achievement obviously,"
He also explained, "My single biggest love at the movies through my entire childhood and teenage years, leading up the highlight of my 2 assistant director experiences - Swades and KANK - which was that I got to be in the presence of Shah Rukh Khan. Circling back to Brahmastra. The movie is the first of a trilogy being produced by Dharma Productions. The movie follows the leads who are trying to find the Hindu mythological weapon, after which the movie is titled, Brahmastra. The feature also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Mouni Roy in key roles. The logo of the film was launched at the Kumbh 2019 recently. Brahmastra is slated to release in December 2019.
