It was only last night when Shabana Azmi was seen enjoying the bash hosted to celebrate Javed Akhtar's 75th birthday. It was an eventful affair with a host of Bollywood celebrities attending it. However, today morning her car met with an accident on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway and she has been taken to Panvel's MGM hospital. According to initial information, her car rammed into a truck from behind near Khalapur toll plaza and the accident was quite horrific.

The actress was critically injured during the mishap and her car was damaged very badly. Her husband Javed Akhtar was present with her in the car and additional details about his injury are still awaited. It is unknown where the couple was headed today morning.
