New Delhi, January 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday wished for the speedy recovery of veteran actor Shabana Azmi. PM Modi said that the news of Azmi’s accident was distressing. The Prime Minister tweeted, “The news of @AzmiShabana Ji’s injury in an accident is distressing. Azmi was then taken to the MGM hospital in Panvel. She was in her car when it rammed a truck from behind. The veteran was accompanied by her husband and ace lyricist Javed Akhtar. He was reportedly safe with no or minor injuries.

Prominent Bollywood personalities, including Lata Mangeshkar, Sayani Gupta, Neena Gupta wished for the speedy recovery of the veteran actor. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also wished for the good health of Azmi. The veteran actor has now been shifted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. She sustained a few injuries on her neck and face. Her condition is now reported to be stable.
