Section 375 is an upcoming flick focusing on the subject of rape laws in the country. Directed by Ajay Bahl, the film is inspired by real-life cases. Starring Akshaye Khanna and Richa Chadda in the lead, this film is about Section 375 of the Indian Penal Code which deals with rape. The makers released the film’s teaser on August 8 and on August 13 the film’s trailer has been released online. Criminal lawyer Tarun Saluja (Akshay) and Public prosecutor Hiral Mehta (Richa), have taken the courtroom drama to the next level. Director Ajay Bahl told BT, “India has one of the highest conviction rates in the world and stands at number 94 on the Global Rape Index. Further, the lack of gender neutrality in our rape laws also prompted me to make a film on this subject.” Section 375 is all set to release on September 13.
