Popular film Secret Superstar is making India proud overseas. Aamir Khan, Zaira Wasim’s singing drama has collected a massive fan following in China. Advait Chandan written and directed film has gained Rs 500 crores at the China Box office. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, “#SecretSuperstar continues its PHENOMENAL RUN in China... Crosses ₹ 500 cr in 2 weeks... Question is, will it cross $ 100 mn? [Week 2] Mon $ 3.43 mn Tue $ 3.33 mn Wed $ 3.23 mn Thu $ 2.82 mn Total: $ 79.42 million [₹ 509 cr].”

It is not for the first time that Mr Perfectionist has tasted success in China. His earlier films PK and Dangal were also well- received in the neighboring country. Owing to the craze of his movies amongst the Chinese fans, this flick too might touch the $ 100 mn mark soon.

Surprisingly, Secret Superstar has easily surpassed Hollywood super-hits such as Jumanji: Welcome to The Jungle and Maze Runner: The Death Cure, and domestic films like Forever Young in just 14 days.

Following the footsteps of the Thugs of Hindostan actor is Salman Khan. Kabir Khan directed Bajrangi Bhaijaan will be released in China on March 2. The distributor of this much- loved film is China’s popular brand ‘E- Star’ who will help the cross- border drama release in around 8000 screens. It will be interesting to watch the reaction of Chinese audience to the amazing chemistry between bhai and the little girl Harshali Malhotra.

Will the Sultan actor impress China like Aamir Khan that only time can tell. Also, Irrfan Khan- Saba Qamar starrer Hindi Medium is scheduled to release in China soon
