Secret Superstar China Box Office Collections: Aamir Khan-Zaira Wasim's Movie Crosses Rs 300-crore Mark
Compared to the nation-wide collections in India, the film has made 7 times more in China! Secret Superstar had made close to Rs. 39.50 crores in the opening week in India.
Aamir Khan last film Secret Suprstar did not impress the Indian audiences much but in China the film has struck gold! The Chinese audience has been fond of the actor and keeping with his fan-following, the musical drama has managed to make close to Rs. 300 crores business in just one week. The film has made a business of Rs. 327.51 Crore in 8 days, informs Taran Adarsh, trade analyst. Compared to the nation-wide collections in India, the film has made 7 times more in China! Secret Superstar had made close to Rs. 39.50 crores in the opening week in India.
The film is based on a 14-year old’s (Zaira Wasim) wish to become a singer and her disapproving father. Aamir Khan has played the role of a musician to help her achieve her dream. This is Aamir’s fourth film to be released in China and like every other film which did great business, Secret Superstar is nearly breaking records. The film released in China on January 19 and within five days is topping the box-office figures there. Chinese reviewing sites have given such high rating to the film which is driving more audiences to the theatres. Besides, the director Advait Chandan and teenage actress Zaira Wasim have done tours in the cities to promote the movie.
Usually it take a few more months for the films to release across the border, but this time the wait was less for Aamir’s fan. The film which released in India in October took only 3 months to be released in China and the box-office collection show how eager the fans are out there to get a glimpse of the perfectionist actor.
Before Secret Superstar, Aamir had hugely impressed with his wrestling flick Dangal. The film became the highest grossing Indian film in the country just within few weeks. While it takes weeks together to make the collections gross above the Rs. 100 crore club, Secret Superstar has managed it within a week! The actor is currently working on his next film Thugs of Hindustan which is scheduled to release in November this year.
