Satish Kaushik Apologizes to Sridevi and Boney Kapoor For Roop ki Rani Choron Ka Raja Movie, Know Why!
Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja was apparently made on the budget of Rs 10 crore which was a huge sum at that point of time.
As kids and die hard Bollywood fans, you might remember this Sridevi- Anil Kapoor starrer Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja movie. This film completed 25 years today but director Satish Kaushik is rather sad than being happy on the occasion. Even though, the film was enjoyed by the fans while watching it on TV, it was a huge flop when released in the theatres. Incidentally, this was Kaushik's directorial debut, produced by Boney Kapoor. However, the film's ill-fate at the box office left Boney bankrupt and today Satish Kaushik made a point to apologise to him and the late actress.
The Udta Punjab actor wrote on his Twitter, "Yes 25 yrs ago it was a disaster at BO bt it was my first child & will remain close to heart. Remembering madam #SrideviLivesForever & my sorry 2 @BoneyKapoor who gave me a break bt was broke after d film.celebrating #25yearsof RKRCKR @AnilKapoor @Javedakhtarjadu @AnupamPKher." Now that was really a thoughtful gesture. After all, how many of them can own up to their mistakes publicly?
Lead star of the film Anil Kapoor too became nostalgic on the occasion. He wrote, "Can’t believe it’s been 25 years for #RKRCKR I remember the obstacles that we faced during the shooting of this film & after as well but it was still a memorable journey. We miss the Roop Ki Rani every day. @BoneyKapoor @satishkaushik2 @Javedakhtarjadu @AnupamPKher @bindasbhidu." Anupam Kher too chipped in with his memories.
After the blockbuster film Mr India, the makers decided to rope in the super hit pair once again with the hope of getting the same success. The film was apparently made on the budget of Rs 10 crore which was a huge sum at that point of time. The film unfortunately failed to create the same magic like Mr India. All said an done, we still have the memories of watching this film over again and again on TV, don't we?
